Hat and Sweater

When I found out my sister was expecting, I knew I wanted to knit something for my new nephew. I decided to do a cabled hat and a sweater. This was my first attempt at a sweater. It's a simple pattern and I am happy with how it turned out.

Baby Things

In preparing for the arrival of our third baby, I knitted several hats and some socks. We were waiting to find out at birth whether we were expecting a boy or a girl, so there are both blue and pink. I can't find the little blue hat I made. I put it away somewhere after Clare was born and she was a girl and now I can't find it!

I really wanted to do a cabled newborn hat. This is the first one I did. I wasn't sure it was going to be big enough as my babies have large heads and other newborn hats that I have made were too small.

So, I tried this one and it's bigger....maybe too big. I found this pattern that used dpn's to work in the round. I found that I like knitting that way.

These are the first socks I've made. Definitely more challenging than hats. (Pattern)
