Poppy Doll

My sister-in-law made one of these dolls for her daughter and I thought it was so cute. Clare played with her cousin's doll and seemed to really like it, so I decided to make one for her for Christmas. You can buy the pattern to make it here. I used natural muslin for the body and brown felt for the hair. The pants are black courduroy and the top is cotton. All of the fabric is stuff that I had left over from other projects. Well, except for the felt. I used embroidery floss to make the eyes and mouth. I'm really happy with how it turned out!

Christmas Ornaments

When I was 16 I worked at House of Fabrics (now Joanns). At the Christmas company party we did an ornament exchange. I got the beautiful fabric ball ornament that the head manager made. I have always thought it was amazing and several times thought about carefully taking it apart to see how to make it. I never did since I worried I would wreck it and then have none. So, this Christmas I decided to look online and learn how to make one. It turns out it is not too difficult. I made two of them as gifts for my kids' teachers and one to give away at the Relief Society Christmas ornament exchange (this one, which came out the best, I forgot to take a picture of before I gave it away). Needle Holder

This isn't a very exciting project, but something I made nonetheless. I've needed something to keep all my knitting needles in so I can find them when I want them. So, I made this simple little pouch with button closure.

Baby Liam's Sweater and Hat

I made this sweater and hat for my sister's new baby Liam. I used this pattern for the sweater from knitty.com . I used the "girl" pattern, but used colors for a boy. It is done in Caron simply soft yarn.

This was the first hat I knitted to go with the sweater. It ended up being too big and I decided to make it ribbed like the sweater. I used this patter found here, but did a striped pattern and made it ribbed.
